There is an endless amount of travel advice, tips and tricks, but it can be hard to find all of that in one place. We have compiled a list of 50 travel tips that will make your travels as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

1.Do research about the place you’re visiting.

Do research about the place you’re traveling to. Your travel experience will be much more fulfilling if you already know some details about the place you’re visiting. This will help you be better prepared and give you less hassles when you arrive at your destination.  You will still discover plenty of new stuff, but you’ll have a foundation to start on.

2. Determine your budget and start saving early.

Budgeting for a trip can give you peace of mind and make your trip much more enjoyable. Start with the biggest expenditure for the trip which is usually the air tickets and accommodation. You can then work your way down to activities, food costs and transportation. It is also important to put money aside for emergencies. The last thing you want is to be in a foreign country with little or no money.

3. Alert Your Bank and Credit Card Company of Your Travel Plans

Let your bank or credit card company know that you will be traveling. If your bank notices transactions in an unfamiliar location, they might suspect fraudulent activity and shut your card down. When you let your bank know that you’re going away, they can record this information and share it with their fraud detection system.

4Know the visa requirements of the country you’re visiting before you travel

Visa requirements differ from country to country. Make sure you have the right visa for the country you are visiting or transiting. Find out what the visa requirements for the country you are visiting are, and make sure they are recent as visa laws change regularly.

5Make sure your passport is up to date

Your passport is the most important item you will need while traveling.  Passports can take days or even weeks to organize. Check how much time is

left before your passport expires, as some countries will not allow entry with less than 6 months and in some cases 3 months validity remaining.

6Have a health check-up before you leave

Do some research and find out health information and vaccination requirements for your destination.  Visit your doctor for a check-up before you leave. Get vaccinated if you can so you can be protected from diseases and viruses.

7Pack Light

Packing light will lessen the chances of losing your luggage in transit. It will also make you less of a target than someone who has a large suitcase or multiple bags. Additionally, a lot of luggage is going to cost you more as you often have to pay more for extra luggage.

8. Get Travel Insurance

You don’t ever think you’ll get sick, injured, or robbed while traveling, it happens when you least expect it. With travel insurance, you don’t have to worry about huge hospital bills or stolen items if it happens.

9. Carry Spare Passport Photos and make copies

Obtaining visas for certain countries can sometimes require multiple passport-sized photos and finding a place that takes passport photos is not always easy. Before you leave your home country, print some photos and bring them with you in case you might need them. This will save you a lot of time in the long-run.
